Even When We Aren’t Seeing Him

This morning I was doing a children’s devotional with my 6-year-old daughter. The topic was “TRUST” and the verse of the day was Psalm 62:8, “Trust in Him at all times.”

Sometimes it is in the simplest ways that God will speak to your heart.

The story was about a little girl and her dad. They were on a hiking adventure together; on their way to see a waterfall. Once they arrived at the waterfall, the little girl was so excited and fascinated by the waterfall – she no longer looked at/for her dad. She was completely fixated on the waterfall.

Even though she didn’t see her dad, she trusted he was there [watching her]. Once the little girl stepped a little too close to the edge. Her dad’s hand gently touched her shoulder and pulled her back to safety. She never feared or worried. She knew all along her dad wouldn’t let her get hurt.

In the same way I we can trust God to watch over us. Even when we don’t see Him, He is always there – watching us, protecting us. He gently guides our steps. He is ready to pull us back, away from danger.

TRUST Him. Don’t resist Him leading you away from danger.
